We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Mechanic (Master). An individual could be successful if they possess the following.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mechanic (Master) performs mechanical work on vehicles and equipment at the highest skill level.

Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.

Assist with documentation of down time, costs to repair, and other data information as needed.

Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.

Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.

Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electrical components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment

Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs

Safety Awareness – Being aware of conditions that affect employee safety. May be required to take additional safety courses related to job tasks.

Quality Orientation – Accomplishing tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how small; showing concern for all aspects of the job; accurately checking processes and tasks; being watchful over a period of time.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age.

High school diploma or GED; VOTECH

Certificate of completion of Maintenance Mechanic program

1-3 years of production maintenance mechanic experience preferred

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and emergency repairs.

Ability to develop and implement planned preventive maintenance programs for equipment.

Ability to read, understand, and follows safety procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
