Headquartered in Bristol, RI is Searching for a Stock room clerk / Buyer to join our team!
This is a full-time position, Monday
through Friday, 7am - 3:30 pm, on-site.
As a member of the CET Team you will be expected to work both independently and as part of a
team. The duties will include conducting market research, building a network of
reliable vendors and service providers, and negotiating the best contracts and prices. The incumbent will
be responsible for negotiating pricing and lead times with suppliers to procure materials at the
best possible price using knowledge of the industry and strategic sourcing strategies. Focus
will be on reducing costs and increasing profitability.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Work with project management and engineering staff to set sourcing strategy; research and
acquire products within specifications and in accordance with the project schedule/budget
• Compile and maintain the Company's procurement policies, in consultation with all affected
departments and/or work groups
• Place purchase orders, reviewing vendor acknowledgements, following up on purchase
orders to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Evaluate and maintain MRP inventory and reorder levels while maximizing profit margin and
minimizing inventory back orders/stock outs
• Establishing and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; work cross
functionally with other departments to resolve purchasing issues such as conformance to
quality, designs, material scheduling, receiving and pricing disputes
• Negotiate favorable pricing/terms on inventory, supplies, tools, equipment & fabricated items
• Research and compare suppliers and goods, ensuring multiple high quality supply sources for
all inventory and project items
• Support corporate initiatives and educating staff on new product launches
• Administrate price updates/changes promptly to ensure accurate inventory costs at all times
• Source the best freight rates and bookings as needed.
• Qualify vendors and maintain current and accurate vendor information, item information,
sales data in the company's ERP software
• Write reports, evaluate quotes and perform cost analyses; prepare RFP proposals
• Assist in planning and implementation of MRP system
• Assist Quality Department with Incoming Inspections
Education/Experience:
• 3+ years of Procurement/Purchasing experience (Mechanical and/or building experience
preferred)
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Required:
• Knowledge of supply chain and materials management principles
• Strong organizational and time management skills and close attention to detail. Able to
effectively manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to new opportunities in a fast-paced
environment. Must be proficient in negotiation and influencing skills
• Exceptional computer skills, extensive knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation, and database
software, proficiency with various e-mail, calendaring, meeting management, and related
communications software.
• Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
• Must have strong analytical skills and proven ability to effectively research and summarize
information in an effective manner and make recommendations based upon analysis. Should
be able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions
and percentages and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate
effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain
focus, extract the necessary information, and validate understanding of the information.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior as a sourcing professional
• Reliable transportation and the ability to work Full Time, in-office daily, Monday through
Friday
