Responsibilities:
Secure updated information in supply chain process.
Create/update supplier agreements and / or processes considering optimal total cost, risk exposure, product mix.
Execute supplier qualification procedures.
Select competitive suppliers based on quality, delivery, service, and total cost objectives.
Develop and negotiate long-term contracts and agreements.
Drive commercial development activities.
Participate in and provides leadership role for the research of materials for new products.
Drive supplier relationship.
Ensure the delivery of materials, equipment or services to meet production schedules.
Drive and lead meetings with internal and external clients to align global, regional, and local objectives.
Drive supplier performance.
Anticipate and identify problems with suppliers, develop alternative solutions, and select and implement appropriate solutions; communicate major problems to management.
Has extensive contact with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of acceptable products and resolve issues; expedite material as required.
Focus and follow up on daily results related to the defined shared goals for purchasing (quality, delivery, service, and total cost).
Place orders for materials, equipment, or services involving high financial risk.
Develop forecasts and schedules for new products or S&OP meetings, collaborating with Sales.
Manage purchasing database information in an accurate and timely manner.
Work with other Buyers, Suppliers, or Accounts Payable to correct purchase order/receipt discrepancies or invoice resolution.
Actively seek alternative processes, suppliers, and materials to minimize cost and ensure delivery and quality requirements are met.
Effectively lead department training for new Buyers.
Facilitate lean activities driving continuous improvement in the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelorâ s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management is required
5+ Years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment
Extensive experience utilizing an MRP System
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
APICâ s CPIM certified preferred
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
Leadership and Business Acumen
Able to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements to support manufacturing needs
Able to create and present ideas or conclusions in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing
Able to organize, schedule, coordinate, and assist in negotiations effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment
Able to lead and influence others to drive continuous improvement initiatives
Advanced Excel Skills
Able to interpret drawings to effectively communicate internally and with suppliers
