Salary:

Seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented professional for an immediate Copy Editor position with the Training Development Directorate (TDD) on Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Candidate will work on an integrated team with instructional designers, subject matter experts, courseware and multimedia developers to design cutting edge training solutions supporting classroom and online learning environments.

The Copy Editor will be expected to work within established project processes, collaborate with team members, and meet project deliverables, as well as effectively manage client relationships throughout the design and development process.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Instructional Designers, subject matter experts, and courseware developers to maintain quality and accuracy in training content.

Verify doctrinal and educational soundness through collaboration with subject matter experts and developers, as well as through independent research.

Provide constructive feedback to authors and developers to improve content readability and effectiveness.

Edit and refine instructional materials (including but not limited to audio scripts, video scripts, and storyboards), ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to established language standards.

Ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and formatting in all instructional materials while maintaining a cohesive tone and voice.

Advise on layout and edit technical materials.

Apply established editorial guidelines and project processes to course materials, storyboards, and multimedia content.

Archive communications such as print or broadcast media in an easily identifiable and searchable format.

Create, review, edit, and disseminate online surveys for USAICoE projects. Compile respondent data into an actionable format.

Job Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must be able to pass government security clearance at the Secret Level

Bachelor' 's Degree

3 - 5 years' experience writing and developing technical, and requirements documents IAW USAICoE, Army, DoD, and Industry writing standards. Experience must reflect the ability to proofread, revise, and produce documents ready for publication or dissemination following professional standards for pagination and format. Working knowledge of Military Intelligence and Army processes is desired.

Experience within an educational, training, or instructional design environment is preferable.

Experience must include taking documents of varying document formats and file types and converting them into a final document format for publication.

Experience must include performing quality control of written, scripted, or narrated content.

Strong knowledge of grammar, syntax, and style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago, or military-specific guidelines such as AR 25-50 or the GPO Style Manual).

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, integrated team environment.

Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.

Extensive working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications and Adobe applications for publication editing; example Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Experience with eLearning development tools and platforms is a plus.
