UDER Health Management Biller Job Description

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Using coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies

Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid

Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims

Verifying patients insurance coverage

Answering patients billing questions

Handling collections on unpaid accounts

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of Medical Terminology, ICD-9 & HCPCS coding

Familiarity with CMS 1500 claim forms

Experience using electronic billing systems

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs

Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills and ability to communicate clearly in English

Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Ability to establish effective working relationships with personnel from multiple departments and divisions
