Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000 - $68,000 annually
About the Role
HCO 2.0 is seeking a highly motivated Automation & Electrical Technician to join our team in building the future of robotic manufacturing. This position is central to the electrical installation, programming support, and long-term maintenance of one of North America’s most advanced Batch 1 automated production lines.
Ideal candidates will bring a background in robotics, automated systems, or industrial electrical troubleshooting, and should have hands-on experience or education comparable to a two-year associate degree in Robotics and Automated Systems Technology.
After the successful installation and commissioning phase, this role will be transitioned into a permanent position within our Maintenance Team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with installation and electrical commissioning of robotic and automated equipment.
Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics, ladder logic, and PLC wiring diagrams.
Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, and robotic systems.
Route, terminate, and label network, sensor, and power cabling to industry standards.
Partner with controls engineers and OEMs for IO checks, PLC integration, and issue resolution.
Provide mechanical support, including metal fabrication and painting of components.
Use computer-based tools to document tasks, log issues, and track schedules.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while complying with safety protocols.
Support the development of training content for HCO 2.0’s learning management system (LMS).
Required Qualifications
Technical degree or equivalent experience in robotics, mechatronics, or industrial electrical systems.
Proficiency in reading and troubleshooting electrical diagrams and schematics.
Familiarity with automation components including PLCs, sensors, servos, VFDs, and relays.
Strong computer skills for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
Basic mechanical assembly and metal fabrication capabilities.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and operate lifts (certification preferred or willingness to obtain).
Positive attitude, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PLC programming, IO verification, or SCADA integration.
Background working with automation platforms such as Biesse or Automatech.
Forklift certification or experience with rigging operations.
Prior work in large-scale industrial installations or high-volume manufacturing environments.
