Role Overview:
Shift and skill determines pay range.
Day Shift (Tues - Fri, 10 hours): $22.00 to $32.00
2nd Shift (Mon - Thurs, 10 hours): $26.00 to $35.00
Weekend Shift (Fri - Mon, 10 hours): $28.00 to $35.00
Machinists at Pioneer operate machinery to manufacture and refurbish fluid film bearings, seals, and other precision components within our King’s Mountain facility. Primary Duties
Produce and verify complex parts and tools from varied sources, including blueprints and direct instructions, using an array of machinery (e.g., lathes, mills, grinders).
Proficiency in mathematical calculations is essential.
Set up machinery with precision and perform necessary equipment adjustments.
Ensure cleanliness and safety standards in workspaces, maintaining output quality and efficiency.
Skillful use of measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) is required to ensure precision. Desired Experience
A relevant technical qualification from a trade institution, or over two years of practical experience, or a suitable blend of educational and professional expertise.
Competency in dissecting technical guidelines and specifications across varying mandates.
Experience with machinery such as Okuma, Hyundai, Bullard VTL, and Fanuc.
Effective communication and critical response skills are needed.
Strong familiarity with complex calculations and geometric applications.
Intrinsic understanding of fundamental to advanced machining processes.
A broad grasp of material sciences, particularly metals and alloys.
Adept at comprehending intricate technical schematics.
Military background is advantageously noted.
