POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior UX Designer delivers the highest levels of customer satisfaction through improving the usability of Bass Pro’s digital product ecosystem such as basspro.com, cabelas.com, mobile and native mobile application efforts. Through a wide range of tasks including user research, testing, ideation, and user-centered design methodologies, this position drives key design decisions that directly improves the experience of end users. The Senior UX designer leads the design approach and solutions on key projects and initiatives, and facilitates seamless implementation within cross-functional teams of researchers, product managers, business analysts, designers, developers, and QA testers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads the creation, governance, maintenance, and evolution of the Bass Pro, Cabela’s, and White River Marine Group design systems and pattern libraries.
Contributes to the development and understanding of foundational UX frameworks and touchpoints, including user personas, key user journeys, and key performance indicators on relevant initiatives that help drive research, testing, and design parameters.
Uncovers user insights, behavioral patterns, and define opportunities for improvement to the user experience, presenting recommendations and advocating to business stakeholders, technical teams, and other collaborators to influence decisions and roadmap initiatives.
Monitors changes across competitors and other leaders in digital commerce to ensure we maintain an innovative user experience which keeps pace with customer expectations across enterprise business units.
Creates design solutions through the exploration of various research methods, user scenarios, task flows, creating wireframes, mockups, or high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate layouts, interfaces, interactions, and workflows.
Facilitates and manages the assignment of UX research and design work on project/initiative design teams, ensuring that design tasks are planned and delegated to an individual design contributor to effectively meet project needs and deadlines.
Provides review, direction, and design feedback on project work for collaborating UX/UI designers, ensuring watertight solutions that are in sync with system standards and approaches.
Contributes to the UX team’s continuous refinement to its approach, process, methodologies, and expertise through collaboration, planning, education, and coaching

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Degree: Educational degree or certification background in Design, Human Factors, or HCI
Experience: 3-5+ years in a strong user experience, user interface, interaction designer, information architect, or user research role. 2+ years e-commerce experience strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Strong history of designing modern user interfaces for desktop, mobile, and tablet devices
Experience building, supporting, and working within existing shared design systems, pattern libraries, and standards
Able to provide history of work demonstrating experience applying user-centered design principles
Experience producing wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and detailed high-fidelity designs in tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, iRise, or OmniGraffle
Experience using web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or Quantum Metric
Experience using modern quantitative and qualitative user research tools and methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, unmoderated usability testing, A/B testing, and more
Experience developing, evaluating, and producing results from test and learn processes
Able to understand, analyze, and evaluate UX research findings, developing recommendations and solutions and advocating for best practices and solutions to leadership and business stakeholders
Function effectively as an integral part of a dynamic cross-functional team
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
Effective design leadership skills, with experience mentoring designers and junior contributors, providing guidance and constructive feedback on work
