Job Title: UX / UI Developer Reports to: Software Development Manager Employment: Full-Time, Exempt

StationMD is a telehealth company dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD). All StationMD clinicians are board-certified and specially trained to treat individuals with I/DD. Clinicians are available 24/7 via telemedicine for urgent and non-urgent medical matters. StationMD also offers scheduled behavioral health telemedicine to individuals with I/DD. In providing this suite of services, StationMD enables individuals with I/DD faster access to high-quality care and substantially reduces unnecessary medical costs.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and creative UX/UI Developer to lead the design efforts for our company's web and mobile applications. In this role, you will be responsible for updating and optimizing the user experience and interface design, ensuring that our applications are intuitive, visually appealing, and provide an engaging, efficient user experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to translate user needs into high-quality design solutions that meet both business objectives and user expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing previous experience in designing user interfaces for web and mobile platforms, an eye for detail, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. As part of the role, you will be responsible for refining our design system and ensuring consistency across multiple products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design User Interfaces: Lead the design process for both web and mobile applications, ensuring the user interface is clean, responsive, and aligned with the brand’s visual identity.

User-Centered Design & Iteration: Conduct user research and usability tests to understand user pain points and behaviors. Use this feedback to continuously improve the user experience.

Prototyping & Wireframing: Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for new features and product updates.

Design Systems & Consistency: Maintain and develop the design system to ensure consistency across all products. Collaborate with developers to implement the design system in the codebase.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product Managers, Software Developers, and business teams to ensure the designs meet business goals and technical constraints.

Stay Updated with Design Trends: Keep up with industry trends and best practices, ensuring that our products are modern and competitive in the marketplace.

Quality Assurance Support: Ensure the designs are implemented correctly and provide design-related support during the development process.

Design Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including user flows, interaction guidelines, and specifications for developers.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Professional certifications in UX/UI design (optional but preferred).

Qualifications/Requirements

4+ years of experience in UX/UI design for web and mobile applications.

Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is required.

Previous experience working with SaaS, healthcare / HIPAA software strongly preferred.

Previous experience with Bootstrap a plus.

Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.

Ability to create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes.

Experience with responsive design and designing for various screen sizes and devices.

Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design, web and mobile app interfaces, and problem-solving through design.

Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, etc.).

Strong understanding of accessibility standards such as ADA (WCAG/VPAT), screen readers, and multi-language support.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.

Experience working in agile development environments is preferred.
