Job Title: Applied Science Research Assistant (Entry-Level)

Location: Durham, North Carolina

Pay Rate: $23.00–$26.00/hr.

Schedule: 30–40 hours per week Flexible schedule available for current students

Position Overview:

Adecco Healthcare and Life Sciences is currently seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Applied Science Research Assistant to support our on-site field testing and assay execution. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or current student in Poultry Science or Animal Science with hands-on experience in animal models and veterinary procedures in a research setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with on-site field testing, including test preparation, participation, and cleanup under the guidance of the Project Lead.

Record and organize experimental data in accordance with GLP or GCP standards.

Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) for data management and reporting.

Work both independently and collaboratively in environments that may range from fast-paced to slow-paced.

Exhibit initiative and self-motivation in all work settings.

Requirements:

Experience in animal handling and veterinary procedures, especially within a research environment.

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and tolerate prolonged physical activity (standing, walking, repetitive motions).

Willingness to travel within the state and work outside standard business hours, including potential overnight assignments.

Qualifications:

A recent graduate or current student pursuing a BS in Poultry Science or Animal Science.

Less than 2 years of professional experience.

Familiarity with biological or chemistry lab procedures.

Availability to work 30–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Additional Information:

Candidate may be asked to drive a company vehicle a short distance (~ mile) between sites to transport supplies (not a requirement).
