The Gund Company has an immediate opening for an experienced Corporate Estimator to join our team!

Work location: Hybrid / Corporate office or any TGC facility location

The Gund Company is a manufacturer and fabricator of engineered material solutions specializing in customized electrical insulation parts. With 12 facilities worldwide, we specialize in custom fabricated parts manufactured according to ISO 9001:2015 certified quality systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Estimator to join our team. As a Corporate Estimator, you will play a crucial role in maximizing organizational and customer value by providing guidance, oversight, and analysis on the prospect and customer quotation process.

You will function as a subject matter expert for complex quotations across the enterprise, lead site-specific Estimator training and development, understand customer application needs, engage in continuous improvement for better quotation technology and processes, and conduct after-action analysis and root cause corrective action to ensure that gross profit meets company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead quotation process for strategic customer opportunities

Execute gross margin review on jobs that do not meet cost expectations

Lead capability review process

Lead after action reviews (AAR) on all lost strategic quotations

Participate in win/loss reviews and lost quote reviews

Lead, facilitate and participate in kaizen improvement eventsRequirements:

Minimum one year of prior CNC setup experience is required, with CNC programming experience preferred

Minimum one year of experience with CNC fabrication techniques is required, with plastics or composites fabrication/converting techniques preferred

A bachelor's degree in manufacturing technology, engineering technology, business, or related field and/or two years of machine shop; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Additional preference for candidates with a solid understanding of complex excel formulas and analytics

Additional Qualifications

Must possess strong technical background, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment

Experience in formula / calculator design, prototyping, development, testing and other activities

Exceptional knowledge and experience using Microsoft office (Excel) is required

Knowledge and experience using Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP)

Demonstrated ability to work in a team, with prior team and/or project management leadership

Experience with manufacturing estimating based on cycle times is required, with the understanding and application of statistical analysis of estimated versus actual times preferred

Knowledge of gross margin calculation with involvement in pricing based on margin

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 10% of the time
