Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Programmer/Developer to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a pivotal role in supporting interoperability projects and activities within the Tennessee Department of Health. In this position, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, program divisions, and IT teams to enhance interface interoperability and contribute to data modernization efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Design, test, and implement electronic interfaces that comply with HL7 standards and public health program requirements.
• Apply informatics principles to ensure seamless data transport and interoperability using HL7 protocols.
• Provide technical expertise and hands-on support for HL7 interoperability projects, including Helios Accelerator focus areas.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for workflows, quality assurance procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in and contribute to meetings focused on interoperability, offering technical insights and facilitating discussions.
• Lead the development of strategic roadmaps to enhance agency-level readiness and capacity for adopting public health solutions.
• Support system integration and electronic data interchange projects to align with modernization goals.
• Offer technical consultation and guidance for the design and data flow of public health interfaces.
• Assist with emergency response situations as needed and contribute to public presentations when required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align project objectives with organizational goals.• Proficiency in designing and implementing electronic interfaces using HL7 standards.
• Strong knowledge of data transport and interoperability principles, particularly within public health contexts.
• Experience providing technical support and guidance for interoperability projects.
• Skilled in developing technical documentation, including workflows and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to lead and manage strategic planning initiatives for health informatics solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation experience.
• Familiarity with system integration, data modernization, and electronic data interchange processes.
• Willingness to travel within the state or out-of-state as needed for project requirements.
