We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Loretto, Minnesota. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries along with supporting schedules in alignment with established accounting systems.
• Generate and analyze operating statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other financial statistics.
• Assist in compiling monthly financial statements across various business units.
• Maintain accurate subledger accounts and perform timely reconciliations.
• Develop audit schedules and provide detailed support to auditors during reviews.
• Contribute to the preparation and data entry of the annual budget.
• Conduct financial research and provide insights to support business decisions.
• Provide backup support for accounts payable activities and other financial services functions.
• Participate in department and cooperative meetings, including occasional non-standard hours.
• Engage in ongoing training and development initiatives to strengthen accounting expertise.
• Hold a four-year accounting degree or possess equivalent experience with at least two years in accounting or finance.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Showcase proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Display the capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

• Experience with ERP systems, accounts payable/receivable, auditing, and balance sheet management is preferred.
