Summary:

The Solution Consulting Sales Manager - Merchant Services is responsible for driving sales performance by leading and supporting the sales team in achieving revenue goals, providing technical solutioning at the client and team level, and building a strong pipeline. This role focuses on providing leadership, guidance, and resources to empower the team, ensuring they can deliver results efficiently and effectively. Experience in financial institutions or banks and expertise in payments solutions are critical.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Guide and support the solution consultant team to achieve individual and team revenue targets, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Provide deep technical solutioning support at the team and client level on complex opportunities.

Assist team members during client meetings, proposals, and negotiations to increase deal success rates.

Monitor and review the sales pipeline, offering strategic insights and removing obstacles to help the team advance opportunities through the sales cycle.

Support team efforts to identify customer needs and provide tailored payment solutions, including Acquiring, AR, AP, and automation.

Coach and mentor sales and solution consultants, fostering skill development and enabling them to meet performance expectations.

Develop and implement tools and processes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team.

Oversee and provide input on responses to RFPs, ensuring they meet client requirements and align with strategic goals.

Partner with Product, Marketing, and other teams to ensure the sales team has the resources and materials needed to succeed.

Work with channel partners to align on goals and provide the team with the support needed to close shared opportunities.

Will travel for client facing meetings, training, or conferences, between 30% – 50% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

10 years of experience in acquiring payments solutions (processing platforms, gateway solutions, platform integrations (e.g., API, file-based), etc.) targeting mid-market to large corporate firms.

3 years of experience driving solution sales team performance and managing pipelines to achieve results.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.

Experience in pre-sales or implementation of payment solutions is an advantage.

Banking experience and project management experience are beneficial.

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor sales professionals, fostering growth and success.

Proven ability to develop and lead the execution of go-to-market strategies focused on selling to mid-market and large corporate firms.

Skill in building relationships with decision makers in mid-market and large corporates. Well-versed with sales-cycles in mid-market and large corporate segments.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients.

Thorough knowledge of various software programs including Salesforce, Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn additional systems/software.

Compensation Range:$93,000-$189,000 Annual Salary

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
