About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Factory Operations Manager to lead our aerospace manufacturing facility specializing in precision machining and systems assembly. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills to drive operational excellence, team development, and on-time delivery performance.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily production operations for machining and mechanical assembly, ensuring efficient workflow and resource utilization
Develop and implement strategic production plans aligned with organizational KPI's and customer commitments
Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing professionals, including supervisors, technicians, and assembly specialists
Optimize production scheduling to meet delivery targets while maintaining quality standards
Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles and best practices
Coordinate with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless production flow
Manage operational budgets and control manufacturing expenses
Implement and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards
Monitor equipment effectiveness and implement maintenance strategies
Create and maintain performance metrics and KPIs to track operational success
Specialized in Machining & Mechanical Assembly
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
7+ years of progressive experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Demonstrated expertise in precision machining operations and mechanical assembly processes
Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing standards and regulations (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
Experience implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing principles
Proven track record of team development and performance management
Excellent problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with managing ERP/MRP systems and production management software
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration
Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or similar
Experience with automation integration in manufacturing environments
Background in new product introduction and manufacturing process development
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts and digital manufacturing technologies
