Pay: $19/Hr
Hours: Train on 1st Shift (2-4 weeks): 6a to 2:30p Monday to Friday
After Training, 2nd Shift: 12p to 8:30p Monday to Friday
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Press Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for operating presses to shape and form materials, ensuring precision and high-quality standards throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to understand and follow call-outs (specifications) for material types, sizes, and other production details. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in press operations, particularly in bending materials, looking to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate presses to form materials into specified shapes and sizes according to production requirements and call-outs.
Accurately interpret and apply call-outs (production specifications) for materials and dimensions.
Ensure materials are properly aligned and measured to meet production specifications.
Inspect finished products for quality, checking for defects and ensuring they meet set standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety guidelines.
Work efficiently to meet production quotas and timelines.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members regarding job progress and any issues that arise.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on equipment as needed.
Document production data and quality control information as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a press operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
MUST be able to read blueprints, understand call outs, flat patterns.
NEED experience in calibrating press brake machines, stamping, and bending material.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and call-outs.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality products.
Knowledge of safety practices and experience working in a manufacturing setting.
Basic math skills to measure and adjust settings on the press.
Must be willing to Train on 1st shift.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team.
