BRF maintains its headquarters and a manufacturing facility in Macedon, New York; with a Culinary Innovation Center in Westmont, Illinois; and offices and manufacturing facilities in Williamson, New York; Pennsauken, New Jersey; and Corona, California. This role is in our Corona, CA facility.

Starting hourly rate is $26 per hour with a shift differential of $0.75/hour for 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm).

These are direct hire roles, eligible for our fantastic benefits package (see below) the first of the month following your start date.

WHAT WE NEED

Processors are responsible to set up equipment for processing based on established standard operating procedures (SOPs) and product specifications. Processors will batch raw ingredients into kettles following established cook cards and batch instructions. Our processors will work with manual and automatic processing equipment and will support the start-up and shut down of processes. A processor at Baldwin Richardson Foods will also be responsible for ensuring quality control checks are completed according to established SOPs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Sets up equipment for start-up and shutdown of processing operations in accordance with product specifications and standard operating procedures.

Verifies materials and batches raw ingredients into processing equipment in accordance with Cook Cards and written batch instructions.

Handles ingredients in a manner to maintain Food Safety standards.

Halts process and notify QA and Supervision in the event of any observed foreign materials, out-of-specification product, process failures, or any Food Safety or Quality concerns.

Checks product to ensure quality specifications are maintained using analytical equipment as designated by the Cook Cards.

Observes work conditions, monitors tanks & pump conditions, and generates work orders for equipment or Process area repairs.

Communicates ongoing equipment, material, or quality concerns to incoming teams.

Monitors and documents critical control points, ingredient lot numbers, real-time recording of events, and ensure proper operation of temperature recording charts.

Completes all required batch paperwork accurately.

Following the EUP for unloading materials, enters receipts and analytical data from bulk testing and ensures all materials are loaded into the correct tanks by double checking all paperwork and verifying the accurate use of the inbound hookups.

Works with production planning team, the production team, and the inventory control team on a regular basis to order, schedule and reschedule bulk materials to ensure their availability in order to accommodate the production schedule and equipment CIPS.

Provides backup to the other Production teams.

Be aware of UV’s & Filters, change filters as required, and bring any issues to maintenance attention.

Always keeps the outdoor areas and bulk areas clean and audit ready as evidenced by plant quality 95% GMP audit results.

Effective communications to the maintenance team any issues that are observed.

Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practices including wearing personal protective equipment.

Adheres to all safety requirements.

Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.

Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs qualification.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Required Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

Minimum of 6 months previous work experience or equivalent education.

Must obtain a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude assessment provided by the company.

Must obtain a satisfactory score on the critical thinking skills assessment provided by the company.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Forklift License preferred

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must pass a mechanical aptitude assessment provided by Baldwin Richardson Foods.

Ability to use a refractometer, viscometer, titrator, salt analyzer, pump RPM gage and PLCs.

Continuous learning, and improvement, mindset is a must; there are many opportunities to learn and develop at BRF, but the individual needs to be motivated to engage in those opportunities.

Effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Willingness to offer suggestions on ways to improve assigned work.

Must wear Food Manufacturing GMP and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, no facial piercings, no jewelry, false eyelashes or fake fingernails.

Language Ability: English fluency required to successfully speak, read, write, and comprehend and give directions in English and communicate with other employees in English as part of regular job duties.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables or based on past experience or training.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to learn a computer system and enter information in English into a computer system (RedZone and/or Tulip).

At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is $26.00 per hour to $28.50 per hour with a shift differential of $0.75/hour for 2nd shift. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
