**Job Description:**

**Senior Network Engineer -- Operational Technology (OT)**

- **Location:** San Antonio, TX

- **Contract duration:** 12+ months

- **Project:** OT Network Modernization Initiative

**About the Role:**

- We're looking for a **Senior Network Engineer** to lead the design and support of secure, scalable network infrastructure for a major initiative focused on modernizing Operational Technology (OT) environments.

- This role requires a strong foundation in enterprise networking, a solid understanding of OT systems, and the ability to ensure high availability and security of industrial networks.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Lead network design and implementation, focusing on **segmentation, documentation, and secure connectivity**.

- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and serve as the escalation point for complex network issues.

- Support OT environments with technologies like **SCADA systems**, **PLCs** (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and **industrial protocols** (e.g., Modbus).

- Ensure secure wireless communications that are **isolated from the internet**.

- Troubleshoot and maintain enterprise-level infrastructure, including **routing, switching, and firewall rule analysis**.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize and document network configurations.

**Technical Skills & Qualifications:**

**Networking:**

Strong understanding of **BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP,** and other standard routing protocols

Experience with **basic route/switch work**

Familiarity with **firewall rules** and **network segmentation**

Hands-on experience with **Cisco ASA NextGen**, **F5 load balancers**, and large-scale network environments

**Operational Technology (OT):**

Experience working with **industrial control systems**, including **SCADA** and **PLCs**

Knowledge of **OT-specific devices** and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus)

Understanding of **air-gapped** or **non-internet-connected wireless networks**

**Certifications & Experience:**

Minimum of **CCNA-level knowledge**; **CCNP-level experience strongly preferred** (certification preferred but not required)

Several years of hands-on experience in both **enterprise networking** and **OT environments**
