Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Batch Maker is an entry level general production worker position. The Batch Maker must be capable of operating a forklift, filling drums with resin to the exact weights, loading chemicals into reactors, making small batches, and doing other jobs as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Must be able to operate a forklift inside and outside of the department. Moving drums and pallets of raw material safely around the plant.
Must be capable of opening reactors and moving pallets of raw materials via an overhead crane to position the material to add to the reactors. The movement of these materials will require an exchange of verbal communication with another employee several floors below.
Must be capable of filling drums of finished materials and moving these drums from the filling location to the warehouse.
Must be capable of reading and understanding written instructions for making small batches, material safety data sheets, and other pertinent information necessary to perform assigned job functions.
Must be able to wear a respirator for completing tasks, dust or other hazards are present.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Follow the ISO 9000 standards.
Capability to multi-task in a fast paced-cross functional environment.
The candidate should be well organized and self-motivated.
Communicates well within the department and with upper management.
Punctuality and regularity of attendance are job requirements.
Must attend monthly safety/quality meetings.
Must report to work on time daily.
Must understand and follow all company policies.
Keep common areas, work areas, and storage locations in a clean and orderly fashion to comply with regulatory bodies, such OSHA, Fire Dept., AQMD, etc.
Other duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
