Responsibilities:
Issues system generated arrival notice to the client and the nominated customs broker (may/may not be Laufer performing this service)
Reviews the information in the system; vessel name, voyage number, ETA, POD, delivery location, PO & SKU info in timely manner TRACKING
Understands the credit position the client holds with the company, which are on receipt or credit client
Identifies shipments if they are port to port shipments or port to door shipments and selects and contracts necessary vendors
Tracks empty containers until returned to terminal
Issues delivery order to trucker
Follows up with the trucker for delivery schedule appointment with customers
Gets arrival confirmation from terminal and update the system, once cargo is delivered

Key Skills and Qualifications:
A customer service position at the company requires a specific skill set. Below is a list of skills minimally required to execute the requirements/expectations
Experience working in a fast paced, team oriented, deadline driven department
Strong geographical awareness and experience routing international and domestic cargo
Understanding of ocean carrier services, operations, and procedures
Understanding of international transportation pricing practices and associated administration
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interpret foreign language to English translation
Understanding of industry used protocols, laws, and terminology
Strong accounting skills and a proven ability to understand how money is managed between overseas agents, ocean carriers, terminals, drayage companies and clients
Understanding of AMS and ISF processing and compliance
Problem solving experience and confidence to challenge status quo
Computer literacy and strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Time management skills
A degree in business, supply chain management, finance or geography is seen as an advantage

Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000, depending on experience.
