Cleared Software Integration Engineer

Bestgate is seeking a highly skilled Software Integration Engineer to develop software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment. You'll support an on-prem cloud offering with open-source software, utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, Weka, Vault, InfoBlox, and more. This role demands expertise in containerized landlord/tenant environments, focusing on increasing software production efficiency within a DevOps culture.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software.

OR Five (5) years of full-time, directly related Computer Science work can substitute for a degree, with at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.

OR An industry-recognized professional certification may substitute for one (1) year of experience.

OR A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Proficient in using the Linux command-line interface (CLI) for system operations

Skilled in scripting languages, specifically Bash and Python

Strong foundational understanding of computing systems, networking, memory management, and storage architectures

Hands-on experience with containerization platforms, particularly Docker

Proven capability in managing and monitoring Kubernetes clusters

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and automation tools like Ansible, SaltStack, and Puppet

Advanced troubleshooting skills, especially for large-scale Linux clusters

Practical knowledge of system monitoring solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana

Experience working with the Atlassian suite, including JIRA and Confluence

Competence in using Git for version control and collaborative development

Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.Desired Skills:

Proficiency in deploying Kubernetes applications using Helm

Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, particularly with GitLab

Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and how to apply them effectively

*Salary Range:

$165,000 - $200,000
