SUMMARY:

Reporting to the IS Manager, the IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining the optimal performance of the Symitar system by leveraging in-depth knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach. This role encompasses analyzing, designing, integrating, testing, and implementing information systems to align with organizational needs and end-user requirements. Additionally, the IT Systems Administrator provides comprehensive support for host-based systems, ensuring seamless operations and a positive user experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

**Host Administration;

Execute a full range of programming tasks, including designing, coding, debugging, and documenting programs.

Develop reports and automation tools using languages such as Symitar Repgen/PowerON, batch scripts, shell scripts, Python, SQL, OpCon, and other relevant tools.

Maintain coding best practices and perform regular code reviews to ensure high standards.

Collaborate with business units to identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies using Episys, ARCU, EDS, and other Host Services applications.

Configure, administer, and maintain the Symitar core banking system, ensuring compliance and alignment with organizational requirements.

Manage Episys production, backup, and development environments to support business continuity.

Oversee system upgrades, patches, and installations, minimizing disruptions to daily operations.

Provide second-level support to internal staff, assisting with problem resolution and troubleshooting.

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to guide business units on business practices and product evaluations.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain system integrity and availability.

Conduct thorough system testing, validate changes, and document them to ensure reliability.

Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including procedures, configurations, and user guides.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

**Application Support Responsibilities:

Proven experience in providing administrative support for Credit Union applications, including Image Center, Synergy, Remit+, MeridianLink, and Temenos.

Ensure seamless front-end and back-end functionality of applications.

Consult with internal users to optimize application performance and usability.

Identify and address the root causes of application errors, ensuring reliability.

Track configuration changes and schedule application updates as needed.

Document processes and monitor application performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency.

Manage application upgrades, apply maintenance fixes, and install vendor patches to keep applications updated and fully functional.

Maintain and update technical documents, procedures, and records to ensure accuracy and consistency.

**Automation Development:

Design and implement automation solutions to optimize processes and workflows across the organization.

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using technologies such as Python, PowerShell, RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tools, and API integrations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and document requirements.

Evaluate existing processes and recommend automation solutions to reduce manual efforts.

Monitor the performance of automation tools and systems to ensure optimal functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues in automation processes to minimize downtime.

**Helpdesk;

Prioritize and manage workload in the helpdesk queue to provide efficient support to end-users via phone, remote assistance, or on-site visits.

Create and track tickets for incoming support requests, assigning them to the appropriate teams or departments for resolution when necessary.

Monitor ticket progress to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.

Collaborate with IT staff to meet departmental objectives and improve overall service delivery.

Respond to service calls, including traveling to branch locations, to resolve technical issues as needed.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Does not directly supervise any credit union staff except through project assignments which may involve directing the activities of certain project staff members.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

This role is integral to ensuring reliable system performance, delivering efficient application support, and maintaining exceptional helpdesk service to meet organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science from four year college.

3+ years' working as a Symitar Administrator or in a similar role, managing Symitar core banking systems.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.

Experience in Symitar's Episys system, PowerOn (Repgen), SQL and other query languages is required.

Experience in a Symitar EASE environment.
