Jewish Community Outreach - Jewish Chaplain General Overview: JSSA is a health and social wellness organization that provides expert caring to our neighbors regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or their ability to pay.

JSSA is seeking a part-time (less than 8 hours per week) Jewish Chaplain, to join our team of chaplains in providing inspiring prayer services, as well as skilled pastoral care, to residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the Greater Washington area.

Responsibilities: Lead brief, meaningful religious services for residents Upon request, lead relevant and engaging discussions for residents Visit residents in their rooms if they are unable to attend services/discussion Assist nursing homes personnel in understanding Jewish needs and traditions Position Qualifications: Rabbinic or Cantorial Seminary training or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of experience performing duties outlined above; Possess at least one unit of Chaplaincy Pastor Education (CPE), Have strong musical abilities, and experience leading Jewish services for seniors of diverse Jewish backgrounds; Ordination is preferred, but not required.

Availability on Fridays, especially late mornings and afternoons is a must!
