Job Summary

The NDT Inspector at Western Aircraft is responsible for performing non-destructive testing in accordance with NAS 410, ASTM, OEM, and company procedures. The technician will be certified and qualified to perform inspections using Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Eddy Current Testing (ET). This role includes equipment setup, calibration, execution of tests, interpretation of results, and documentation, all within aerospace industry standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform NDT inspections of articles within qualifications as a Level 2 inspector

Accomplish NDT inspections using MT, PT, UT, and ET methods as certified.

Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and ensure readiness for inspections.

Evaluate test results according to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

Prepare, review, and maintain accurate inspection documentation and records.

Identify and report non-conformances and assist with corrective actions.

Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure compliance.

Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

RTS Authority

Flexible work shift to meet maintenance requirements to include overtime, shiftwork, and weekends

Occasional travel to offsite jobs

Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Job Requirements

Minimum eight (8) years' experience in NDT

Certification to Level 2 in MT, PT, UT, and ET per NAS 410.

Documented training and experience in accordance with NAS 410 requirements.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.

Proficiency in operating NDT instruments and relevant software systems.

Prior aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience preferred.

Certification in multiple NDT methods beyond MT, PT, UT, and ET preferred.

Familiarity with AS9110 or similar aerospace quality management systems preferred.

Prior aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience preferred.

Education:

Documentation supporting certification as an NAS 410 Level 2 NDT UT Inspector

Ability to obtain and / or have FAA Certifications issued under 14 CFR Part 65 Other Prerequisites

Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Ability to obtain Airport Issued security badge

Valid Driver's license Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed outside of an office environment, with moderate noise level, and is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires occasional fieldwork; the employee is exposed to outdoor weather and industrial type noise conditions. Constantly requires clear vision to read printed materials and computer screen to accomplish work and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Available Benefits
