Extruder Operator - Second Shift

About the Role:

As an extruder operator in the manufacturing industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and production lines. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production quality standards. You will collaborate with team members to optimize processes and implement improvements that enhance productivity. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Basic understanding of machinery operation and maintenance. Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality output.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.

Document production data and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.

Check physical properties such as flatness, gauge, length, width, gloss, haze, orientation and square, as required

Detect and correct imperfections such as die lines and rolls, patch out, contamination, etc.

Assist in training new production employees with their assigned duties.

Fill out identification labels and complete paperwork as necessary.

Basic computer skills are necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities, which are essential for operating and maintaining machinery effectively. Attention to detail is crucial in monitoring production quality and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Communication skills will be utilized daily to collaborate with team members and report issues to supervisors. Preferred skills such as knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles will enhance your ability to identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements. Overall, a combination of technical skills and teamwork will be vital in achieving production goals and maintaining a high standard of quality.

Second Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm
