The Engineering Lead oversees design activities for the Trailers and Skids group, managing resource allocation and prioritizing both project-based and daily design work. This position supports all trailer and skid platforms, including Agricultural Trailers, Utility and Telecom Trailers, Jet Heat Trailers, Fuel and Lube Trailers, and Lube Skids.
Key Responsibilities:
Allocate team resources across duties and projects
Prioritize daily work and long-term design projects
Review designs to ensure feature alignment, performance expectations, and regulatory compliance
Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards
Support hiring, training, and development of engineering personnel
Perform assigned miscellaneous duties and projects
Follow company safety rules and promote a safety-first culture Required Competencies and Skills:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in engineering or related area
Ability to plan and manage work schedules
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Microsoft 365 suite)
Applied knowledge in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems (automotive/work truck industry preferred)
Strong applied mathematics (physics, trigonometry, statistics)
Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software
Familiarity with ERP systems preferred
Team-oriented with the capacity to work independently
Some overnight travel may be required
