Job Title: Assistant Principal - Virtual Learning, Launch Missouri's Workforce

Department: Virtual Learning

Pay Grade: A120

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Principal - Virtual Learning

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting the digital instructional program by assisting with virtual delivery services, assists leadership with program metrics alignment, provides information and serves as a resource to others. Supervises assigned staff, addressing issues, situations and/or problems that arise with enrolled students or on campus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Tracks dual credit course offerings for all content areas for Launch.

Collects required Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) data and submits to district, following Career and Technical Education (CTE) requirements.

Coordinate Launch Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) and submits data to district, following CTE requirements.

Participates in meetings, workshops, and conferences conveying and gathering information and addressing school improvement and instructional issues.

Tracks CTE Certificate earners following DESE guidelines and accountability measures.

May require limited travel in the state of Missouri.

Evaluates assigned personnel to ensure that achievement of standards and maximized performance.

Facilitates the development, communication implementation and evaluation of quality learning to enhancing excellence, equality and equity for staff and students.

Facilitates meetings, processes, etc. to meet curriculum guidelines and/or ensure achievement of state mandates.

Facilitates communication between personnel, students and/or parents in order to evaluate situations, solve problems, and/or resolve conflicts.

Implements policies, procedures and/or processes to provide direction and/or comply with mandated requirements.

Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students in order to assist students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills.

Manages a variety of school administrative functions in order to enforce school, district, and state policy and maintain safety and efficiency of school operations.

Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.

Performs on-boarding and intake meetings and conducts home visits to ensure student participation and accurate attendance reporting.

Prepares a wide variety of materials in written and electronic form to document activities, provide written reference, and/or convey information.

Represents the school within community forums to maintain ongoing community support for educational goals and/or assist with issues related to school environment.

Supervises school personnel by monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving overall objectives of school's curriculum and teaching expectations.

Supports Principal providing assistance with administrative functions and alignment of the building culture to the district's strategic plan.

Performs other related duties as required/assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Master's Degree in a job-related area from an accredited college or university, required.

Job related experience within a specialized field, required.

Virtual learning experience, preferred

Career Technical Education experience, preferred Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

Possession of a Missouri Teacher Certificate, required.

Possession of a Missouri Administrative Certificate, required.

Ability to obtain and maintain "Highly Qualified" status as defined by Missouri's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, required.

Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.

Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include instructional procedures and practices; age appropriate student activities; safety practices and procedures; conflict resolution; and stages of child development/ behavior.

Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including: operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; performing standard bookkeeping; providing leadership; making effective oral presentations; planning and managing projects; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
