PARKS SUPERINTENDENT

Graduation from high school and minimum of two (2) years of college or university in the fields of landscape design, engineering, or other closely related field or four (4) years experience in Park Maintenance.

This is skilled supervisory work in assisting the Parks and Recreation Director in the development and operation of the City's parks and recreational areas.

Listing of duties and responsibilities includes: Supervises, assigns, recommends, and reviews the work of personnel engaged in the operating, repairing and maintenance of recreational and park areas, grounds, sprinkler systems, and associated services within the parks system.

Schedules and organizes work in the best interest of maintenance needs.

Assists in the preparation of specifications for contracts of materials and equipment; maintains personnel efficiency records control of purchasing for projects; arranges the work crews.

Knowledge of the standard maintenance practices and procedures used in grounds maintenance.

Knowledge of landscaping.

Ability to plan, organize and direct large scale maintenance; the use of labor, equipment and supplies effectively.

Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Must be CPR and First Aid certified within 90 days of employment.

Must obtain a CDL with passenger endorsement, Class A license within six (6) months of employment.

This position requires successful passing of a background check and drug screening.

Selected applicant must furnish upon selection valid drive license and educational credentials.
