Overview

The Live Release Coordinator will learn all processes for maintaining and utilizing CCACS programs: Volunteer/Foster/Transport/Adoption/Rescue; allowing for substantial increase in Live Release Rate. Will be required to learn about Shelter Standards of Care, Capacity to Care, Chameleon use, all aspects of the Live Release division. Will be required to receive vaccine/microchip, euthanasia training and Fear Free training- with certification prior to completing 6-month probationary period. Will Attend on-site/off-site events.

Responsibilities

• Requires a high level of customer service

• Communicates with multiple people with levels of education and background

• Assist with media releases; (i.e. News, Radio, etc.)

• Assist with public education about adoptions, fostering/volunteering, rescue and Standard of Care, appropriate animal care

• Will learn how to handle complaints or irate customers in person or via phone and resolve issues effectively

• Responsible for learning all Live Release processes

• Complete adoption processes, rescue transfers and any appropriate paperwork needed

• Assist with on-site/off-site adoption/education events

• Assist with any/all education to the public; (i.e. schools, community events, etc)

• Will learn about all live release options available and will be required to participate in all live release opportunities

• Will learn local city ordinances, where to locate them

• Will learn how to properly intake an animal, following all SOPs and Ordinances as required

• Will learn of the different Zoonotic diseases; how they are transmitted and how to prevent the spread of disease

• Will learn and participate in proper sanitation protocols utilizing proper dilutions of chemicals; appropriate cleaning of all animal housing

• Will learn about behavioral evaluations and how they are utilized to assess animals within the shelter

• Gain certification in Fear and Stress Scoring (FAS); Fear Free Shelter

• Will learn how to appropriately handle animals of all types of behaviors

• Will learn about all enrichment programs available and how to implement them to help with appropriate pathway planning for shelter animals

• Attend multiple training courses in behavior and enrichment

• Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required

• Will learn how to promote growth within the Adoption/Rescue/Foster/Volunteer/Transport/Outreach/Playgroup programs. This will include watching/reading all of CCACS's orientations, manuals and trainings available for all Live Release Programs

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Non-Exempt - Full-Time

• Positions and schedules are dependent on vacancies and department needs.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED

• Two (2) years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

• Defensive Driving Certification (City Training)

Required Within Six Months of Hire

• Vaccination Certification (In-house training)

• Microchip Certification (In-house training)

Required Within One Year of Hire

• Euthanasia Certification (DSHS)

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
