Description
We're looking for a sharp, organized, and customer-focused Payroll Clerk to join our internal payroll team! In this role, you'll be the behind-the-scenes hero ensuring hundreds of employees across multiple branches get paid accurately and on time because you know every timecard tells a story.
Compensation: $17.50-$19/hr.
Schedule: Remote, Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM
How You'll Do It
As a Payroll Clerk, you'll be responsible for processing payroll across multiple office locations with precision, speed, and confidentiality. You'll work closely with branch teams, billing, and supervisors to ensure a smooth payroll process each week. This role is perfect for someone who loves solving problems, thrives on deadlines, and is passionate about getting the details right.
Payroll Processing:
Collect all timecards for each assigned segment weekly
Enter weekly data into the time entry system for hours, fees and expenses
Attach copies of timecards to support billing requirements
Balance number of employees in the ATS against the time entry system by branch
Identify employees either missing time or not assigned weekly
Verify and export time from the time entry system to the payroll system
Address any errors that arise during exporting between systems
Enter corrections or adjustments to previous week's hours or pay
Ensure all required documentation is in the payroll file within the P Drive weekly.
Collect any employee loan agreement forms from each office
Maintain payroll files in an orderly and confidential manner Employee Account Management:
Enable customer PTO Plans in payroll system
Audit/Maintain PTO plan compliance for removal for employees no longer working
Assist with obtaining needed employee WOTC documentation
Central Service reconciliation Communication and Collaboration:
Communicate with points of contact to ensure continuity in hours being processed
Distribute missing timecard reports to branches and coordinate with field offices to resolve outstanding timecard issues, ensuring all employees receive their correct pay
Coordinate with field offices to address employees with recorded hours but no placements, ensuring accurate payroll and timely payment for all employees
Collaborate closely with billing team to ensure adjustments are made to both payroll and billing for accuracy and compliance
Communicate with Field Payroll Supervisor on any issues to ensure resolution in a timely manner
Utilizing the internal ticketing system efficiently Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

At least one year of previous customer service experience or appropriate business experience
Above average communication skills to communicate effectively with branches, employees and clients
Possess working knowledge of Microsoft office applications, with a base knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong customer service orientation
A cooperative, team-oriented demeanor, yet also able to work independently
High School diploma (or equivalent)
