ENTERPRISE DATACENTER ENGINEER

Location: Washington, D.C., United States (Department of Veterans Affairs)

Duration: Long-term Contract

Rate: DOE

Schedule (FT/PT): Full Time

Shift: Day

Clearance: Public Trust

Potential for Telework: 75%

Travel Required: 25%

Description:

Datacenter engineers will engineer, design, implement and troubleshoot data center networking systems across the county in VA owned and leased spaces. They will lead implementations with multiple VA teams to accomplish mission goals. This LCAT has been identified as a resident engineer. Resident engineer must meet the following requirements:

Expertise with Cisco Datacenter Nexus switching Cisco Routers and F5 Network load balancers.

Expertise with designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise level large, multi-site, multi-vendor Data Centers.

Expertise in Automation of networking and server installation, vulnerability remediation, and configuration updates.

Expertise with engineering and migrating to IPv6.

Demonstrated success using modern DevOps methods and tools including automated testing tools and monitoring tools.

Demonstrated ability to drive frequent release cycles (daily/weekly).

Minimum Education Level - Current CCIE Datacenter Certification

Minimum 15 years' Experience as a datacenter engineer spanning multiple locations. Required:

25% TRAVEL (75% Remote work)

The Government anticipates travel under this effort to perform the tasks associated with the effort, as well as to attend program-related meetings or conferences throughout the US.

The total estimated number of trips in support of the program related meetings for this effort is once per month (estimated at three to five days in duration)
