What does a successful Vice President of Network Application Engineering do at Fiserv?

In a critical role on our senior leadership team, you will oversee, manage, and coordinate the network engineering team, focusing on load balancing and network application policy. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive innovation, ensure network reliability, and enhance customer engagement through advanced network solutions. You will a team of DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) engineers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of the DDI infrastructure.

What you will do:

Lead and manage a team of Load Balancer Engineers, providing guidance and support in the configuration and troubleshooting of F5 and Citrix Netscaler load balancers

Develop and implement enterprise Load Balancing strategies, ensuring alignment with security compliance initiatives and overall business objectives

Collaborate with internal support teams to design, implement, and maintain highly available and complex network solutions in both data centers and cloud environments

Oversee the daily administration of the load balancer environment, ensuring optimal network performance and timely issue resolution

Provide architecture and engineering expertise for new implementations, cloud environments, integrations, and project designs

Evaluate and install new technologies and solutions, ensuring compliance with security baselines and standards

Manage and maintain procedures for telecommunication systems, including the design and maintenance of telecommunication projects according to the telecommunications roadmap

Resolve capacity and performance issues, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of data telecommunications systems, and design testing processes to identify faults, minimize malfunctions, and ensure robust backup systems

What you will need to have:

12+ years of experience with network operating systems, network devices, and networking protocols

6+ years of experience with load balancing solutions such as F5 BIG-IP, Avi Networks, and Citrix Netscaler

6+ years of experience in designing and engineering DNS, DHCP, IPAM solutions, and DNS-based Global Server Load Balancing solutions

6+ years of experience with advanced routing, protocols, the OSI model, application optimization, network security, and remote user access

6+ years of experience leading teams

5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) technologies

5+ years of experience with DDI solutions such as Infoblox, BlueCat, or similar platforms

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent

Certifications such as F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) and F5 Certified Solution Expert (F5-CSE)

Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline DDI operations

Knowledge of cloud-based DDI solutions and integration with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
