BuckID Systems Analyst

Under the general guidance of the Director of BuckID and with the support of the BuckID Senior Systems Analyst, the BuckID Systems Analyst applies general industry knowledge and an understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities of applicable systems to install, operate, maintain, and repair BuckID systems and hardware. The Analyst works with the Senior Systems Analyst to research and resolve moderately complex system problems, serves as a subject matter expert to recommend software and hardware to meet customer business requirements, installs and maintains hardware and software in the field, and acts as a liaison to various internal and external constituencies that utilize the BuckID System. The Systems Analyst must be available to respond to after-hour issues via telephone and may be required to provide in-person support during non-business hours to resolve critical issues.

Responsibilities:

Install, maintain and repair BuckID hardware and software, including but not limited to door access / security equipment, point of sale hardware, event tracking terminals, custom reporting solutions, and custom scripting. May be called on to assist and advise other service personnel in troubleshooting related or interconnected hardware components not directly managed or supported by BuckID (e.g. physical door hardware and power supplies, ADA operators, etc.) (40%)

Provide training and technical guidance related to system capabilities and functions, including developing system documentation, installation guides and training materials for use by end-users and installation contractors (20%)

Monitor system performance to identify/resolve issues and evaluate possible hardware and software enhancements to recommend for future implementation (15%)

Serve as a liaison to internal and external partners, vendors, and customers to design solutions using BuckID systems and hardware to meet customer business requirements and manage related projects (15%)

May assist in supervising the work of student technician(s) including assigning tasks, providing instruction, assessing performance and monitoring completion and quality of assigned tasks (10%)

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Desired:

2 to 4 years of relevant experience. Basic knowledge of low-voltage control system wiring. Previous experience with maintaining information technology systems and hardware. Basic understanding of computer networking. Proficiency in developing SQL queries, JavaScript code and PowerShell scripting for process automation and custom reporting.

Additional Information:

The posting range for this position is $58,700 - $77,200. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the selected candidate’s qualifications.
