Job Purpose
The Senior Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and organization of assigned operations personnel and contractors. You will effectively ensure timely and cost-effective completion of Gas Capital Delivery projects while supporting the safety, reliability, and integrity of gas facilities in accordance with the company’s departmental, regulatory policies, and procedure requirements.
This position will supervise external Gas Contractor crews performing all aspects of related work to manage the local construction process to ensure safe operations are being performed for not only the contractor personnel but the public as well. Safety, Quality and Compliance are the key factors to ensuring we meet our corporate goals.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee and support the construction process in the field following the construction policies and procedures while maintaining a strong focus on workplace safety, through field inspection.
Ensure the delivery of a successful project through leadership in the construction process while remaining fully compliant and within budgetary limitations, resulting in the timely and cost-effective installation of gas facilities
Supervise a workforce that may work overtime hours (day/night). Must be available for standby assignments on a rotational basis, and respond to emergencies to ensure public safety
Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with all federal, state, and local municipality regulations & guidelines, and Operator Qualifications
Confirm accurate daily reporting of all field work
Review daily reporting and System Operating Procedures of the job, work orders, construction sketches, Operator Qualifications of the crew, contractor onboarding, etc.
Collaborate with wide range of diverse teams across industry, including government & local municipality officials
Attend & participate in all field meetings including pre-construction meetings, safety meetings, and all daily job briefs
Attend & participate in future project meetings and perform constructability review of future projects.
Mentor lower-level supervisors
Qualifications
A technical degree/bachelor’s degree in engineering/related area and/or equivalent experience is preferred
5 years of relevant experience in areas of utility operations, utility construction & operations or similar industry is preferred
API 1169 preferred
Committed to ‘on the job’ training programs with practical experience of methods, processes and techniques relevant to certification requirements with NGA Gas Operator Qualifications
Knowledge of Federal, State, OSHA, local, and company safety & environmental rules and regulations & systems used in the Natural Gas Industry
Requires knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Primavera, PowerPlant and SAP experience is a plus.
Understands procedures & standards and demonstrates the ability to provide directions with clear reason and rationale.
Strong oral and written communications skills are required.
Able to attend and test for Gas Operator Qualifications
Maintains a non-restricted State issued driver’s license.
Able to travel throughout service territories and willing to work extended hours when the job requires. That might include, but is not limited to, system emergencies. Driving to other company locations, including New England and Downstate, NY, for various meetings and training.

Salary
$116,000 - $137,000 a year
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
