The Fleet Auto/Body Technician I performs operations, technical and administrative duties for the Fleet Services Section.
The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision.
The Fleet Auto/Body Technician I may perform other related duties and tasks, as required and shall have the physical, mental and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.

Supervise trustees
Perform shop maintenance
Loan out vehicle
Prepare impounded vehicle for release
Maintain spare units
Function as on call mechanic
Prepares collision damage estimates
Install and remove decals on equipment
Available for call out
Perform automotive maintenance and repair
Perform auto body damage repair
Utilize diagnostic equipment
Perform emergency equipment repair and installation
Perform welding
Perform removal of equipment
Perform maintenance on other equipment
Process work orders
Work flexible hours
Education, Professional Certification or License
High School or GED
ASE Certification preferred
Florida driver’s license, CDL preferred
Must attain sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on an annual basis
Professional Experience
Two (2) years’ documented experience in the automotive repair or body collision repair shop vocational field. Years of experience can be waved in lieu of ASE Certifications by Fleet Administrator
