Position Title (Classification Title): Student Assistant

Working Title: Athletic Student Assistant

Job Summary: Student employees play a critical role in the success of the Athletics Department. These positions offer hands-on experience in collegiate athletics and help ensure that events run smoothly, safely, and professionally. Students work in a variety of areas, including Game Operations, Marketing/Ticketing, and Athletic Communications.

Game Operations

Students working in Game Operations are responsible for the physical setup and breakdown of athletic facilities and assisting with the execution of game day logistics. Roles may include:

Facility Set-Up and Clean-Up

Court Sweeper

Ushers and Greeters

Ticket Scanners

Visiting Team Host

Official/Referee Host

Ball Retrievers

These team members help create a safe and organized environment for players, coaches, officials, and fans.

Raymond Brooks -

Marketing & Ticketing

Students supporting the Marketing and Ticketing teams focus on fan engagement and providing quality service to spectators. Responsibilities may include:

Ticket Sales and Scanning

In-Game Promotions

Fan Giveaways and Contests

Assisting with Special Events

Customer Service and Fan Experience Support

These roles are perfect for students who enjoy working with people and promoting school spirit.

Athletic Communications

Students in this area assist with media production, content creation, and game coverage. Positions include:

Video Production and Broadcast Support

Camera Operators

Photography

Public Address Announcing

Broadcasting

Play by Play

Live Stats and Data Entry

Ted Johnson-

These roles are ideal for students interested in sports media, journalism, or digital design.

Department Intercollegiate Athletics

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend.

Position Qualifications: - Must display tactfulness in dealing with the public and be able to do so without supervision.

- Must be able to handle emergency situations comfortably

- Must show commitment to the job and an understanding of the job responsibilities

- Possess and display attention to detail in his or her day-to-day work.

Preferred Qualifications A driver license is required to drive departmental golf carts and van for on campus errands.
