POSITION INFORMATION
Position summary:
The Perioperative Educator is responsible for the clinical education of all staff members within the Operating Room and Perioperative areas, including orientation for new hires and transfers; responsible for promoting the growth and development of the staff through in-service programs, instruction, role modeling and consultations; works as a resource person for staff by providing current information based on literature; disseminates current nursing research which provides a foundation for best practice within the perioperative settings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
Required length and type of experience:
Expert perioperative nurse with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience
Required licensure, certification or registry:
CNOR required
Current license by Ohio State Board of Nursing
BLS & ACLS certification
