Classification: Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties pertaining to maintenance, modification, and repair of developments and leased housing.
Inspects buildings, equipment, and grounds to determine conditions needing maintenance and repair work.
Makes building repairs such as replacing and hanging screen doors, minor woodwork, fixing fences, clotheslines, and other minor carpentry and hardware repairs.
Performs minor plumbing repair work associated with project maintenance and isolated maintenance such as cleaning plugged drains, draining pipes, and replacing washers and gaskets.
Does patch and spot painting on doors, windows, and walls; does minor plaster patching and repair of ceramic and linoleum tile.
May service and regulate building equipment.
Requisitions materials; keeps records of time, work, and supplies; makes report of work and building conditions.
Uses portable power tool and standard hand tools.
May supervise one or more Residence Cleaners.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED AND two (2) years experience in general maintenance.
Special Requirements: A California Class "C" Driver's License may be required.
EXAMINATION

Applicants must pass each phase of the testing process with a rate of 70% or higher to be placed on the "Certified List". Generation of a Certified List does not mean that there are any vacant and available positions at this time. The Certified List will be available for not less than 6 consecutive calendar months.
THE EXAMINATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL OCCUR ON June 3, 2025. If you are invited to the examination process, you will receive an email from NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, May 29, 2025. This will be your only notice. There will be no changes to the date(s) of the examination.

Candidates will start at STEP 1 of an eight step salary range unless there are special exceptions in accordance with the Personnel Rules.
