What You’ll Do:
As a Court Security Officer, you'll serve as the first line of defense within our justice system by:
Providing armed security and supervision of in-custody defendants during court proceedings.
Ensuring the safety of judges, jurors, court staff, and the public in and around county court facilities.
Escorting prisoners, witnesses, and court personnel in high-security situations.
Maintaining neutrality, confidentiality, and integrity throughout all court operations.
Responding to emergencies including fire alarms, bomb threats, or acts of violence, acting as a trained first responder.
Assisting with jury trial operations, including juror safety, coordination, and data entry.
You’ll work in close collaboration with the Sheriff’s Department, court officials, and the public, ensuring safe and orderly proceedings in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Do You Have What It Takes?
To be successful in this role, you should have:
A high school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or a similar security role
Excellent communication, situational awareness, and organizational skills
The ability to qualify with a duty weapon (quarterly) and obtain a Glock safety or handgun certification within 2 months of hire
A valid driver's license, and ability to pass drug screening and background check

Preferred candidates have prior experience in law enforcement, military police, or armed security. Knowledge of court procedures is a plus—but if you’re motivated and ready to learn, we’ll provide training.
