About this job:

Performs critical functions within the department on a rotating basis effectively and accurately. Provide expertise and assistance to the Bank's senior management, the branch network and associates, the Information Center and the Loan Department. Additionally, perform critical functions within the Operations Department on a rotating basis effectively and accurately. Receives and answers branch associate inquiries regarding customer accounts. Provides friendly and courteous customer service to branch personnel and customers, as needed.

As an Operations Assistant you will:

Scan and index documents to the Synergy imaging system. Assures the accuracy and timeliness of the process. Research problematic issues and ensure resolution.

On assigned days, perform the duties of Control Clerk by processing daily overdrafts, incoming return checks, and unposted transactions. Review stop payments and holds on customer transactions. Processes adjustments received from customers as well as other financial institutions, balances and reconciles deposit accounts to the general ledger. Work positive pay and ACH charge backs as well as process them. Balance CD transactions to the GL as well as process Fedline NOC/returns and total verification.

On assigned days, perform the duties of Client Accounting, including but not limited to: Assuring the accurate and timely processing and maintenance of customer records and account files: receives and verifies all documentation from the branch network on new deposit accounts and maintenance requests to CIFs and existing deposit accounts; process refund/waive requests; process incoming and outgoing wires on the host system; process Fresh Start agreements, and more.

On assigned days, perform the duties of Reconciliation Clerk, including but not limited to: Assuring accurate and timely balancing and reconciliation of internal Bank of Missouri deposit accounts and general ledger accounts; balances and reconciles the correspondent bank statements; processes Positive Pay exceptions.

On assigned days, serve as the Computer Operator, including but not limited to: Accessing Fedline System to retrieve incoming and initiate outgoing ACH files, receives and memo-posts incoming ACH files of customer debits and credits; process other outside processing files (ex. Banktel, Shareholder, etc.) as needed. Provide secondary verification for, and submit, incoming and outgoing foreign and domestic wires.

On assigned days, assure the prompt processing of outgoing mail for the entire Bank including notices, statements and correspondence as well as general mail from other departments.

Effectively and courteously receives and answers telephone inquiries from branch associates regarding customer accounts. Assists bank associates with questions regarding account status, bank statements, charges, etc.

On assigned days, perform the duties of wire transfers by ensuring timely and accurate processing of wire transfers. Assist branches with completing transfer forms and tracking the status of wire transactions. Responsible for creating MIB templates, review wires for fraud, and assist with fraud investigations as needed. Balance daily wire transactions at close of business day. Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by both front-line and back office employees when submitting wires.

On assigned days, process payments that come in through the mail and all electronic payments to be processed through Lockbox system, as well as investigating incorrect payment information. Coordinate with Treasury and the Payments Department to ensure proper application of new customer payments.

Other various assigned tasks that can include: balancing ATMs, processing and printing statement files, processing debit card orders, maintaining debit card printer and supplies, balance WIP, update branch error tracking, complete CK21, and work with MIB – keying/correcting and balancing items. Verify duplicate accounts report, keep record of bonds redeemed, mail Mobile Wallet enrollment letters, and review address change report. Verify file maintenance and notify supervisor if discrepancies are located.

Maintain confidentiality of customer information; follow established policies and procedures in responding to inquiries and requests.

Able to assist with training of new employees to the department.

Qualifications for Success:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
