Job Summary
The Material Handler will transport of products within the production plant via fork lift trucks and pallet jack. This job is responsible for accurate management of inventory via scanning devices. Very physical job mixing materials and climbing on machines. Must have the flexibility of schedule is necessary to cover labor needed for weekends on a rotation basis. Adherence to safety procedures is essential. Only on the fork truck 20-30% of the time.
Major Responsibilities:
% Time Responsibility/Activity
50% Clean dryers, material hoppers before adding new material via climbing on machines and ladders.
20% Transfer product to the proper locations, fluid computer skills, inventory
10% Scan finished skids of product to correct location
10% Load and unload semitrailers
5% Daily inspection of fork lift and work orders for any repairs needed
5% Keeping shop floor clean of debris and miscellaneous assigned tasks
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
valid drivers license
1-2 years of forklift and scanning experience preferred
Must be able to lift different size materials 10-50lbs repeatedly, stack, maneuver objects, to bend, stand, walk and climb throughout the workday.
Must have solid math skills and understanding percentages and/or fractions.
Must also have solid computer skills with the ability to navigate in an ERP system for inventory management
Ability to multi-task and prioritize on shift
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
