Job Summary

Perform/oversee all necessary tool room duties: perform mold repairs, die repairs, engineering change requests, mold staging, preventive maintenance, mold change overs and fixture and jig construction. Safety is paramount in the daily job function and is crucial to maintaining a healthy and injury-free environment.

Job Duties

Follow work instructions and daily assignments, as given by Supervisor.

Clean and maintain production injection molds.

Clean, inspect and prepare new and transfer injection molds.

Notify supervisor and/or engineering department on any mold/tooling quality concerns.

Perform insert changes on injection molds.

Replace damaged and worn ejector pins.

Create/modify spreadsheets for tool room backlog/workload & mold insert configurations

Implements minor mold repairs by reading blueprints, instructions and sketches, or studying actual part.

Effective organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and plan work on a daily basis.

Review the Tooling department production schedule and ensure tools are prepared.

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

2 year associates degree in tool and dye preferred

2 - 3+ years of tool room experience

Ability to read, write and speak English

Basic Knowledge of plastic injection molding.

Excellent math skills, proficient in MS Office

Understand tool drawings and piece part drawings.

Possess a working knowledge of tool shop practices and of machinery such as lathes, grinders and mills.

Must possess a sense of urgency while performing tasks accurately.

Good communication skills.

Essential Functions

Ability to keyboard and navigate in computer systems

Ability to communicate via email

Ability to email and upload digital pictures

Standing, walking, sitting, climbing, reaching, bending, lifting up to 50lbs+, pushing and pulling.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk or listen

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; lift overhead; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Repetitive hand motions and prolonged periods of standing may be required.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
