Summary
The IT Specialist’s role is to ensure the stable operation of all in-house Microsoft infrastructures. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, securing, updating and optimizing all hardware with the Windows O/S’s installed. Responsible for escalated end user hardware and software support issues, and support staff training where required.
Responsibilities
Manage servers, including, but not limited to, e-mail, print, database, RDS, IIS, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
Aid in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server hardware and software.
Monitor email and ticketing queues for proactive self-assignment of tasks and respond in the appropriate manner (phone, email, in person). Inform other team members of work status.
Provide escalated end user support for all phones, conferencing, and related hardware.
Document job functions and procedures as necessary.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Certifications
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A+ is desirable.

Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2/2012 R2 operating systems and understanding the fundamentals of the first 3 layers of OSI.
Experience and understanding of Microsoft SQL, Exchange, IIS, Shoretel, and Sonicwall technologies is desirable.
Understanding of backup technologies, virtualization technologies, and Microsoft Active Directory is desirable.
