Job Title: Crane Operator II
Location: Boston, MA
Reports To: Superintendent / Field Leadership

Overview:
The Crane Operator II is a mid-level crane operator role for individuals who have mastered basic crane operations and are capable of handling more complex lifts, advanced rigging situations, and critical jobsite coordination. This role supports safe, efficient, and timely execution of field operations and lift plans.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Advanced Crane Operations
• Operate lattice boom and telescopic cranes (swing cab and fixed cab) to execute critical lifts independently.
• Read and interpret engineered lift plans, blueprints, and load charts.
• Adjust crane operations to match evolving site conditions while maintaining plan fidelity.
2. Rigging Coordination
• Lead or assist with advanced rigging setups, including multiple-point lifts and blind picks.
• Coordinate closely with riggers and signalpersons to ensure safe execution.
• Inspect and verify rigging components for compliance with safety and lift requirements.
3. Safety and Risk Mitigation
• Perform pre-lift equipment inspections and daily operational checks.
• Participate in or lead Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety briefings.
• Report unsafe conditions, near-misses, or mechanical concerns immediately.
4. Equipment Oversight and Maintenance
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance.
• Identify mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with site mechanics.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and secure crane storage during and after operation.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (may be substituted with relevant experience).
• NCCCO Certification required (LAT and either TLL or TSS credentials).
• 3–5 years of experience in steel erection or industrial crane operation.
• Skilled in advanced rigging, OSHA compliance, and high-complexity lift execution.
• Strong communication, coordination, and spatial awareness.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
