Office of Information Services
The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health, human, and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. Due to the number of end-users and technologies supported, OIS is one of the largest and most complex IT organizations within Ohio state government. What You’ll Do
As a .NET Software Developer, you will be part of a small, friendly team of developers working to support the entire software-development lifecycle. You will work extensively with new tools and be able to update your skills on new technologies. This position will need good analytical and communication skills, the ability to manage your time efficiently, and be persistent, thorough, detailed-oriented, and well organized.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Work with business area personnel to assure requirements are thoroughly defined and approved
Perform code review and serve as technical lead when necessary
Create detailed test designs and plans
Coordinate execution of unit and system tests
Participate in debugging efforts and defect tracking
Perform impact analysis to identify inter-dependencies
Create documentation
Write, review, and coordinate development of application related training materials and software user guides
Schedule\: 8 hour shift, between 7am-6pm as determined in consultation with supervisor, Monday through Friday. This position will be required to work outside normal work hours and scheduled shift in the event of emergencies and service outages.
Travel\: No regular travel expected. May require occasional in-person work for scheduled trainings or all-staff type meetings.

60 months work experience in any combination of the following\: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)
Option 2:
42 months work experience in any combination of the following\: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)
AND
Completion of Associate's core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
Option 3\:
36 months work experience in any combination of the following\: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation
AND
12 months work experience in MS .NET Environment (e.g., C#, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET core, MVC, etc.)
AND
Completion of undergraduate core program in Computer Science or Information Systems
Or
Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 35. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $38.84 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
