Qualifications - External
Here’s What You Need
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
6 months of telemetry monitoring experience strongly preferred
Basic understanding/ability to learn medical terminology
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
What You Will Do:
Demonstrates competence in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment.
Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately.
Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification.
Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide.
Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care.
Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission.
Notifies patient’s primary RN promptly of any changes in patient’s monitor view.
