Cyber Security Intern

We’re looking for a **Cyber Security Intern** to join our team.

The **Cyber Security Intern** executes on risk management and compliance level activities with information-security related requirements. This position implements information security policies to reduce risk across the organization. This individual's work relies on experience, training from others, and judgment to plan to accomplish goals. This role will perform risk assessments on cloud and other vendors, software, and processes. The position will update and create policies and security awareness training for company associates. The position utilizes security best practices, industry standards, frameworks, policy knowledge, and knowledge of various technologies. The position identifies risk and compliance issues and drives mitigation, remediation, and compliance activities within the business. It involves interaction with numerous departments and business functions. Security and organization responsibilities will be required as needed.

**Education and Experience**

+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

+ In process of obtaining Bachelors degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Management, or similar areas.

+ Knowledge of security best practices.

+ Familiarity with Cloud architecture SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.

+ Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 20000, NIST 800-53, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a plus.

+ Familiarity with ITIL, SDCL, Agile and other methodologies a plus.

**Competencies:**

+ Ability to execute on simultaneous projects to completion.

+ Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively.

+ Ability to organize, work, and communicate effectively in Teams.

+ Strong technology skills with the ability to synthesize relevant information and make decisions.

+ Strong analytical skills to relate security requirements to appropriate security controls including sensitive data management.

+ Ability to work remotely.

+ Excellent communication abilities and relationship building skills.

**Wage Range**

The hourly rate for this position is between **$15.00 - $19.25** per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
