Summary of Position: A Project Engineer at Banks Construction Company serves as a crucial support pillar to the Project Manager, aiding in the successful execution of complex construction projects. Their role involves a diverse array of tasks, including technical project planning, resource coordination, quality control, and technical problem-solving. They help ensure projects adhere to budgets and schedules while maintaining impeccable safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Effective teamwork and communication with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders are at the core of their responsibilities, and they actively contribute to project progress tracking, issue resolution, and the incorporation of innovative and sustainable construction practices. In essence, a Project Engineer at Banks Construction Company plays an instrumental role in delivering intricate roadway projects with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare correspondence to clients
Work directly with Project Superintendents
Coordinates with the Safety Director to ensure all necessary training is completed, and all issues are brought to his/her attention in a timely fashion
Assist in the coordination of project efforts within various departments of organization
Facilitate the project end, providing support to the accounting department
Maintain project documentation to include job files and all correspondence
Attend progress meetings, assisting with meeting minutes as necessary
Process and track all change orders
Review specifications for appropriate submittal information
Review and edit field logs to ensure accuracy of labor and equipment phase codes, billing items, and general notes as needed
Be familiar with and maintain quantities for preparation of SCDOT/Project Owner estimates, cost reports, etc.
Monitor outside hauling requirements and DBE obligations
Review job cost status for accuracy, communicating corrections with necessary individuals such as accounting
Reconcile actual job costs to estimated costs and inform appropriate individuals of any discrepancies
Assist in the preparation of monthly quantity reports to complete information
Verify actual progress quantities
Prepare subcontractor billing worksheets monthly
Prepare change order submittals for entry into financial/accounting software
Support Project EEO documentation and reporting
Complete weekly and monthly OJT reports for each trainee on assigned project.
Monitor and maintain project submittal process
Submit invoices to owner for payment, following up on all overdue collections
Prepare work orders
Any other responsibilities as assignedRequirements:
