Job Description
Auria is looking to hire a Software Database Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and deployment of the Wideband SATCOM Trend Analysis & Anomaly Resolution Subsystem (WSTARS) for the Department of Defense (DOD) Satellite Communication (SATCOM) Enterprise. The ideal candidate will design and implement multiple databases in multiple environments to support the engineering design and development of the WSTARS program.

Essential Functions:
Develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems.
Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Diagnose problems encountered during application integration among products and address fixes/enhancements according to prescribed program processes.
Design and develop complex software using a variety of programming and scripting languages.
Familiarity with developing application software in a Windows environment, using relational databases, and knowledge of client – server applications will help set the candidate up for success.
The candidate will be working in an extremely dynamic and challenging environment on a day-to-day basis.
In addition, the candidate must be a team player, able to work comfortably and effectively with company team members as well as program stakeholders and DoD contractor personnel using strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. The candidate may be required to travel in support of customer interface, technical interchange meetings, on-site technical support, and event/exercise support.
Basic Qualifications:
Active U.S. Government SECRET security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience, or a STEM PhD and 4 years of related experience
Level 5: Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and 12 years of related experience, or a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related experience, or a STEM PhD and 7 years of related experience
Experience with design and implementation of data warehousing technologies including relational and nonrelational databases, SQL, and data analytics.
Experience supporting PostgreSQL database management systems running on Windows or Linux.
Experience in full lifecycle project development.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for crafting efficient automation scripts and executing database operations.
Experience working on Agile Teams and SAFe methodologies.
Ability to obtain Security+ or other DoD Level 2 Security Certification within 6 months.
Experience documenting design, processes, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Top Secret Clearance
Master of Science in Engineering or other STEM discipline
Demonstrated experience in implementing automation solutions using Ansible to support distribution and operational processes
Experience working with DevOps Processes and Cloud Infrastructure
Systems administration experience, to include Windows, Linux, and VM environments
Understanding of enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability
Experience with direct customer interaction
Pay Range: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($110,000 - $170,000).
