Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in marine science or related field in hand by September 1, 2025. Directly related research experience.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Postdoctoral Associate will conduct research in the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences under the supervision of Principal Investigator, Dr. Yong Chen. Candidate will be conducting research in offshore wind, marine fisheries and marine conservation, managing the oceanographic and fisheries data that are needed to model fish habitat suitability changes for many important fish species in the US Northeast region, assisting in developing new research projects and advising graduate students. Successful incumbents will have excellent attention to detail, experience working in teams, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities will include:

● Within the predetermined research scope and methodology, advance research in offshore wind and fisheries.

● Conduct data analysis in modeling spatial distributions.

● Assist in the preparation of research proposals and scientific publications, helping advising students.

● Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
